Support Slocan Valley T-Shirt Campaign Gives Back To Local Businesses

$10 for every t-shirt sold will go to small businesses across the Valley

Just One More in New Denver has partnered with Community Futures Central Kootenay to launch the Support Slocan Valley t-shirt campaign this November, providing a meaningful way for the community to rally around local businesses still feeling the effects of last summer’s fires.

For every t-shirt sold, $10 will go towards buying gift certificates from small businesses in Slocan Valley. Everyone who purchases a t-shirt will be entered into the draw to win a basket full of local gift certificates. The winner will be announced at Merchants’ Night in New Denver on December 4.

“This initiative not only gives Valley residents a chance to support each other, but the t-shirts make a fantastic holiday gift for locals and supporters alike,” says Heather French, owner of Just One More.

The t-shirt’s distinctive design, crafted by Shauna Fidler of Design Farm in Winlaw, has already captured the community’s attention. Originally launched in August as part of Community Futures’ ongoing wildfire recovery campaign, the Support Slocan Valley t-shirts were proudly worn by Community Futures staff at local events. When a photo of the team sporting the t-shirts appeared in the newspaper, interest surged, and the phone started ringing.

“We’ve received so many calls, emails, and messages from people wanting to buy a Support Slocan Valley t-shirt,” says Ron LeBlanc, Slocan Valley Economic Development Coordinator at Community Futures Central Kootenay. “We’re excited to team up with a local business to make more available.”

The Support Slocan Valley t-shirts, made from 100% cotton and available in sizes small to XL (with other sizes on request), are on sale now for $25. You can snag yours by visiting Just One More at 322 6th Ave in New Denver, reaching out on Facebook, or contacting Heather directly at heatherjustonemore@gmail.com or 250-505-2329.

Don McCulloch, Andrea Wilkey and Ron LeBlanc from Community Futures Central Kootenay wore their Support Slocan Valley t-shirts to a wildfire recovery pop-up event in New Denver in August. Now thet-shirts are available to purchase at Just One More. For the month of November, $10 from every shirt sold goes back to small businesses across the Valley.
