The North Slocan Trails Society (NSTS) has a management agreement with Recreation Sites and Trails BC for the management of three trails in the North Slocan Valley:

K&S Rail Trail and the Cody Spur

Biking and hiking: suitable for all ages. If you are biking, start in Sandon for an easier ride. Hiking starts in either Sandon or Three Forks. The Three Forks trail head starts with ½ km of flat and then you climb approx. 4 kms to the K&S Rail Trail. In the winter, you can cross country ski on the K&S rail trail. The ski can be either an out and back or a loop if combined with the Cody Spur. To ski the trail, start in Sandon.

Wakefield Trail

Biking: advanced riders only as there are some steep, exposed sections on this trail.  Suitable for hiking.  Start at the upper Idaho Peak parking lot. The trail ends at the Silverton Creek Forest Service Road.

Butter: A new 8 km mountain biking trail in Rosebery.  The access is a challenging forest service road climb to the start of the upper trail.  This ride is usually done as a shuttle.

A map of these three trails can be found at both the New Denver and Nelson Visitor Centres or on-line at www.trailforks.com.
