Your Valley, Your Legacy
The Slocan Valley Legacy Fund was established in 2011 with seed money from the Kootenay Savings Community Foundation, and it has grown substantially over the years with donations from many supportive community members.
The money is invested in perpetuity (through the Vancouver Foundation) and each year grants are distributed to groups in the Slocan Valley using the interest from the fund. This way the fund continues to grow, along with our ability to provide grants. The Fund is managed by the Slocan Valley Community Legacy Society.
Applications are available beginning in January with a deadline of mid-March, and cheques sent out in May. Applications are available online on our website at www.slocanvalleylegacy.com.
Donations are always welcome, and any donation of $20 or more qualifies for a tax receipt. You can give in many ways, such as mailing a cheque, e-transfer, or via credit card. We also welcome donations In Memory or In Honour of people and projects. Check our website for details, or call us at 250-226-7399.
