Maa Press is a publisher and distributor of radically regional books. We operate on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded təmxʷulaʔxʷ of the Sinixt Peoples. Columbia Basin authors are welcome to contact us about book distribution.

Maa Press frontlist titles include Not Extinct: Keeping the Sinixt Way (2021) by Marilyn James and Taress Alexis, the Sinixt təmxʷulaʔxʷ map, with local place names labelled in snselxin (the Interior Salish dialect spoken by Sinixt Peoples), and Connecting the Kootenays: The Kootenay Lake Ferries by Balfour historian Michael A. Cone.

Our backlist includes books by K.L. Kivi (New Denver), Luanne Armstrong (Kootenay Lake), Ellen Burt (Nelson), Debra Barrett (Kaslo), Kathy Sager (Nelson), and Claudette RdV Burton (Queen’s Bay).
